TOOR DHALL
Toor Dhall is also known as the tuvar dhall or arhar dhall from List of Indian Dhalls. Skinned and split Toor Dhall is the most widely-used form of the lentil. It is rich in protien and used in Vegetarian Indian cooking for a balanced meal.
These yellow split peas can be made into dhall which is served with side dish of vegetables, rice or flat breads, which we call as Dhall Tadka , Dhall fry, Toor Dhall Sambar, etc.
The split lentil (Toor Dhall) is slightly sweet, having nutty flavor, easily digestible and absorbs the flavor of other spices quickly. They take a little longer to cook than moong dhall. When this dhall is combined with rice, a complete protein is gained.
